Around Me - (My Favorite Robot Remix) by Abstraxion

Though a sometimes common misconception lingers over electronic music as being cold and soulless, the opposite couldn't be more true for French-born/London-Marseille-based producer Abstraxion (Harold Boué). Following the 2013 release of Break of Lights, HAKT Recordings is proud to present Abstraxion's latest offering, I Can't, available December 08, 2014. Wasting no time on a dramatic intro, Abstraxion dives in headfirst, immediately commanding attention with the eponymous opener. The track's 6-minute landscape unearths Abstraxion's signature warm melodies, dreamy basslines and nostalgic undercurrents (only this time with a more dancefloor-friendly tempo), paving the way for the rest of the EP. Hypnotic sounds ebb and flow on the sci-fi-esque "Never Thought" before Abstraxion unleashes a sinister , propulsive riff akin to a jet revving up for takeoff somewhere in the middle. Brief but profound, it makes for an unforgettable surprise before the track winds down back to earth. Rounding out the EP are two remixes for "Around Me." A bouncy bassline and chunky, wobbly synths abound in Fairmont's take, while My Favorite Robot closes with a minimal, psychedelic groove.
