Mefjus - Surrounded by THUMP
Mefjus. If you don't know, now you know. The Austrian is one of the first names to roll off the tongue in discussions of that quintessential continental neurofunk sound. For those unawares, it's like the bastard child of drum & bass and prog-metal, and it's not for the faint of heart. Mefjus' forthcoming album Emulation is chock-full of absolutely fucking mental ruminations on the neurofunk style, and we've got the premiere of "Surrounded," a brutal bass-wave of a tune that at once batters your senses with intensity, complexity, and undeniable toe-tappin' groove.
